Accessibility
American Forest Management wants everyone to be able to use its websites, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, or voice control.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This statement covers americanforestmanagement.com and afmrealestate.com.
The sites partially conform to WCAG 2.2 AA: most pages pass, and the parts listed below do not yet.
What we have done
- Images have text alternatives. Listing photos are described from the listing until an agent writes a fuller description.
- Every control can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Form fields, buttons and links have names a screen reader announces.
- Background videos have a pause button and do not play for visitors who have asked their device to reduce motion.
- The sites are checked regularly with an automated accessibility scan.
Known limitations
- Maps. Property and forester maps can't be used without sight. The same listings are always shown as a list next to the map.
- Embedded content. Videos (YouTube, Vimeo), property boundary maps and tours (id.land) and the newsletter viewer are run by other companies, and some of their controls are not fully accessible. Contact us and we will provide the information another way.
- Older images. We are still writing descriptions for some older images on news and information pages.
- Documents. Some older PDF documents are not tagged for screen readers. Ask us for an accessible copy.
Tell us about a problem
